Moving up and away

I've all but decided to leave LJ behind and move to Wordpress. There's nothing in particular that's prompting this (I really don't pay attention to all the politicking that goes on here so that's certainly not it) but I'm just looking for something new and different.

When I make the move, I'll let you know.

I've seen three or four people do that over the years, and without the community spirit of LJ they've all ultimately just vanished into the ether.

I'll be available via RSS feed. I don't want to post it to Facebook because I often write about people I work with in an unflattering manner and I'd rather they not read it. I'll post a link to my new home before I depart. I'll also be around to read my friends page - that's how I met all of you, after all. :)

I moved to Wordpress about a month ago. I wanted a more open commenting system, so that people who weren't on LJ would feel comfortable leaving comments if they wanted

I have *4* years worth of posts to export. I did 2004 and 2005. I'm going through and updating tags/categories, mostly so I can read all my old entries.

But I'm in love with it so far. I'll keep my account here to read and comment on friends but I'll be posting over there. It's a little freer and I feel more like a "blogger" now.
