Food Porn and Toy Nazis

Last weekend, we left the kids at home and set out for a hoity-toity gala dinner at the Hyatt. Filipino chefs had been flown in for the occasion of a Filipino food festival culminating in said dinner. I was quite excited to experience a modern twist and eat my food in delectable stacks adorned with drops of flavour around the plate. This is not ( Read more... )

Darn it, you made me hungry! That bowl of cereal I had at 7 doesn't seem nearly substantial enough all of a sudden. I want laing, some veggies and tofu, and sticky rice pudding! Will have to content self with last square of dark chocolate and another cup of coffee. Wah.

I've had that same problem with dolls. I guess that's why Care Bears and Ponies are popular. Non racial and non commital. Stupid. Vote with your money! Don't buy white baby dolls! Buy Sock Monkeys!

Won't it be great in the future when you take a pic of the food and post it online and all interested punters can make a actual "printout" of said food and share the joy! Wouldn't that make all the foodie shows popular. You could sit down and watch the Naked Chef whip up some treats and them print them into existence and that would be that... Still, if anything knows to console ones feelings it's some dark chocolate and coffee!

I guess I had the first inkling of this when I made a quilt for baby Jade (who's just been born on Monday!) and I knew that if I didn't make the girl image myself, I'd never find and Asian girl motif at the shops. I feel like I'm the village idiot for not knowing about this and so enraged that so many people are being so profoundly insulted!!!

The aisles of pink really freak me out at the big toy stores.

I'm jealous of all that yummy food and kidfree time!

No dammit! I had a few options but was let down by my limited shoe options. There are some beautiful shoes around at the moment so I guess I'll have to get shopping.

The warmer weather will help too! It hasn't quite been warm enough for that skirt although next week they are predicting 27C!!

Well I also have the added problem of having wide feet. Having said that I am enjoying all the thong shoes going around at the moment. I am hoping for luck when I go to Manila in Jan. and go for gold in the shoe stakes!!
