i need to get my lame teeth fixed soon too. maybe this dentist can fix my worn out upper incisors without charging me an arm and a leg! i'm so tired of being told it's 'cosmetic'. do they have to be broken nubs before it becomes a 'real' problem?

the problem is with my two top incisors- i ruined the enamel from years of sucking on lemons, and now they are hideously worn down, as well as chipped from a long ago car accident. every time i have had some form of dental insurance, i am always told that the damage is 'cosmetic only' and not covered, and that i need to pay for veneers or fillings out of pocket...and it is NOT CHEAP. cosmetic MY ASS- the surfaces of those teeth are CONCAVE, almost down to the dentin, and the edges are so thin they continually chip. i always wonder how bad it would have to be for them to consider it 'essential'.

Pretty spiffy huh?
I go to the dentist on Thurs...:( I really don't like the dentist. Had a horrible experience as a child. I had my MRI yesterday (I have not heard anything yet) I am not sure I like being in that little tube, and then all that noise on top of it. Funny thing is I am not clausterphobic, I guess i just don't like being in something I cannot get out of.

ethan too had a horrible experience, hence his reluctance to go back until his head was exploding. i don't LIKE it, but i never had any trauma....since we have such good insurance now, i need to get mine fixed too.
hope your MRI comes out normal! kep us posted. i don't think i'd like being in that tube either, but it's nothing a couple of xanax wouldn't fix :-)

I had to pay like 450...for a crown. That's basically about half.
I thought about taking the Zanax a bit too late. ( I was in the tube) If I have to ever have another one I will do that for sure. Although I have has worse experiences...the dentist for one. I just ordered me a couple of Halloween srub tops.....wooohooo

we had a choice between 'co-pay' insurance and one that covers just about everything...of course i picked the 'no-pay' one, the only drawback is less providers accept it, big whoop! a small inconvenience for the monetary savings
the dentist i picked is right around the corner from our old house though, but he seems good so i figure we can get all our shit taken care of and then pick one closer to home.
