I've wanted to study in the US ever since I was in primary school. It's really lame, but it's something I've always wanted to do. it might turn out that i can only go on exchange for 6 months, cos curriculum differences or something. but their whole program sounds SO good. apparently that area in America is exactly how you see in movies. that's what this lady said who went on exchange to illinois. ooooh! that's all i want, my american dream! (starts singing switchfoot!)

where did you wanna go?

I always get wierd when people talk about travelling. I think in some strange way it makes me think I'm going to lose them to another country because they won't be satisfied with little old perth and will try to move permenantly. It's a bizarre insecurity I have.

But with you, I don't feel like we'd lose you. Maybe it's coz I know your heart is in a good spot, and I also know that we've got Owen here, so you can't go permenantly! Like, I'd imagine you'd go, and come back having learnt a million different things about the world, but you'd use your learnings here, rather than wanting to fly off elsewhere suddenly.

Sounds like an awesome opportunity. I say if you want it, take it, but promise to us that we won't lose you!

I couldn't leave Perth, I love it too much. I guess, I just had this thought the other day that I know Perth. Like it's such a small city that it's pretty much knowable. But there's big big BIG cities out there, with so much happening that there's no way I could know it all. What an adventure! And yeah, couldn't leave owen. He'd cry too much. ;)

I agree with Brad, Laura. I think it's a great opportunity and it sounds like something you'd love to do. Ultimately you have to follow your heart, not just your head. But don't stay forever!
