Getting to the Big M ... erm, gorilla style and with a big banana? :)

Apr 17, 2006 18:49

Heh, some gal pals have been pestering me to spill the beans about getting engaged ... specifically, how does a cheeky gorilla go from swinging wildly tree-to-tree (*ahem*) to eventually arriving at the mother of all trees (the Big M!) and, more importantly, how will they know if their guy is ready for marriage and how can they speed him along if ( Read more... )

Exactly! You can drag a horse to water, but you can't make him drink! Still, I know quite a few women who try too hard and lose too much sleep over their man when he's just not ready yet(not that he doesn't love her). It's like she's travelling on a bullet train while he's on a steam engine. Same destination, just different speeds? :)

Good question! I've never asked her actually although she has asked me that same question. Hmm, must remember to ask her sometime. :)

I must say though, J has never pressured me into marriage ... other than the occasional teasing and "hints" just to get a kick out of seeing me react. LOL! I've been pretty honest with her about my wild past, but more importantly I feel she really gets me and knows that if she gave me my space and freedom, I'll eventually get to the Big M. Heh, must be the Saggi in me lah. Hahaha! Still, given all my biz travels, I know how difficult it must be for her sometimes and, to be frank, getting engaged was partly my way of telling her I'll be around for the longhaul. ;)

Your entry is making me think.

I doubt I am ready for the Big M now. Great advice here. :)

Marriage guru? Yah right, wait long long ah! Heh, a guru has a large following of devotees, gets paid to dish out words of wisdom and, these days, may even land his own TV show! :) Nah, just sharing my experience since I keep being asked by gals I know. Actually, I'd like to hear from other married/engaged guys too. Fat hope? :\

Cheeky? What? What? O:) And everything that song says about me is true! Hahaha!

How did you come across the song? Damn funny lah, sounds so harmless at the start then comes the uplifting chorus. Lifts up moods indeed. Such a cheerful happy song.

I first heard of Da Vinci's Notebook when I was in the US several years back and have been a fan ever since. They're really hilarious! Sadly though, I haven't been able to find their CDs in S'pore, but they can be bought off Amazon. :)
