Least Favorite Icons #2 - The idea behind the icon is great, but the "light" parts are still too dark because there's no real white. #3 - The font used doesn't appear a good choice as it looks rather pixelated.
Favorite Icon #4 - The crop works really well in combination with the texture(?) used.
Least Favorite Icons 06 - Extremely close crops can be tricky. Here, because the drawing is pretty even, with no especially dark or light spots, no particular part of it stands out, a problem that's exacerbated by the tight central crop. There's nothing particular that draws the eye to focus. 07 - The image looks very over-contrasted. The plain white of the background takes up a lot of room and is distracting - I can't tell whether it's the original image lightened up a lot, or a cutout, but either way, there's a sharp jagged edge on the side of his jawline/hair.
Favorite Icon 03 - Great use of text and negative space!
Can I get a bit more detail and reasoning behind your least favorite votes, please? Where are the things you mention and why do they bring down the quality of the icon?
Can I get a bit more clarification/elaboration on your least favorite votes, please? Try to stay away from using personal pronouns (I, you, me, they, etc.) and focus on objective reasons rather than subjective reasons (coloring washes out the subject versus the brush work doesn't look good [objective first, subjective last]). For your second least favorite vote, I'm going to need something beyond "i don't get the text/image connection...", as well. Why is that a bad thing (again, using objective reasoning)?
Least Favorite Icons 06 - The icon is very dull and could use a bit more contrast. Textures would also do the icon good to spice it up a bit. 01 - While the crop is nice, the contrast is a bit too high and it makes the lightest parts a little blinding.
Favorite Icon 08 - Interesting crop, and I love how the liquid contrasts from the mug.
