and i'm pretty sure i don't pay enough attention to the sky anymore. trying my hardest to justify having a nice afternoon when so many others aren't. it's tricky. i want, so much, to give myself away to a cause. selfless acts of kindness, anything but random. but where do you draw a line? what keeps me tethered to my life, and why do i feel ( Read more... )

don't feel guitly about not giving yourself 100%. you deserve to be happy too. dish out some william wolfe to others but keep a smile on yourown face too. no one wants to be helped by someone who isn't happy them self.

Try reluctant enthusiasm. In other words, you can be enthusiastic about the cause, but reluctant to make it your full time job. The sky is here now for you to enjoy. I have more opinions but I am reluctant to share since I have this delicious sandwich to eat now.

makes perfect sense...i've always wanted a hobby or something to consume all my passion, but it never happens. the problem with being so generous is always getting taken advantage of; glad you're hanging onto yourself too. peace, Angela

I don't think you should feel guilty. I think it's as simple as this:
You have to take care of yourself, too so that you can be able to help others and give of yourself. If you work yourself into the ground by doing so much and not taking some time for you, you'll be of no good to anyone. Take some afternoones and enjoy them. Live your life, too.
