[Voice]

Not that I enjoy rain, though. I don't suppose the shop in town has any umbrellas left?

Ah, an excellent bit of news. Perhaps once it lets up a little, I will go find myself one. There isn't much point to getting sopping wet for the sake of one, after all.

It would be, considering I have only rescued so many of my good clothes from the shop.

Artemis Fowl, the Second. A pleasure to meet you, Lucy.

[Artemis is sufficiently distracted by the surprise white cat on his stack of books--especially since this one is sentient. He might ignore a cat that couldn't talk back, but he knew this one could.]

I'm sorry I don't have Jay-Jay today, he might have liked to see his friend the terrifying white cat. [He smiles to himself as he marks his place.] Staying out of the weather as well?

Cheeky cat. [Artemis raises an eyebrow and opens his book again. Then again, he is attempting to start conversation with a cat.]

I'm certain he is bemoaning it most vigorously on his pillow next to the space heater.

I'm sure the shop will restock itself if all the umbrellas run out. Although it seems to have an infinite number of just about anything.

True enough, though running through the rain and getting wet in order to procure an umbrella does seem rather backwards. And I'd rather not be stuck with something ridiculous like those umbrellas shaped like frogs.

They do have a rather strange selection sometimes, don't they... [Which explains a lot about the Malnosso, really.]

Well, you could always borrow an umbrella from a neighbor until you can get one yourself? I'm sure they wouldn't mind.

'Strange' is an understatement. 'Borderline cruel and unusual punishment' is a better descriptor.

...I don't have any neighbors. No one else lives on my floor. [It's even more depressing that he actually sought this information out.]

The entirety of it? Do you melt away in the wet, lad?

I'm not exactly a witch, no. Though perhaps I could turn someone into a newt if I put my mind to it.

In all actuality, I'm not very fond of snow.

Witches melt in foul weather? [Now Jack is quite honestly taken aback by this news.] And snow's fun, mate.

Well, according to the popular culture of my time and space. Possibly a better test, too. People splashed with water tend to live longer than those burned at the stake.

And snow is not fun. It is cold and wet and is indicative of below freezing temperatures and possible frostbite.
