More bad news
Ian failed to qualify for Junior Olympics (aka "States") despite the fact that he was predicted to win his bracket. He lost to a kid he had beaten handily 3 times this season. I think he just choked. The disappointment had the whole family depressed for a week ( Read more... ) -

Flight to Jacksonville this morning cancelled. No explanation from airline.
Leah and I both sick with some sort of stomach bug. Lots of barfing.

Sibling Rivalry (subtitle: WTF?)
Not to be outdone by his sister, Joshua fell skiing today and was transported off the mountain in an ambulance. There was a large contingent at the ski school pushing for helicopter evacuation, but the weather didn't permit it. Broken leg
In technical terms, she has a complex, but nondisplaced, radiographically-occult Salter-Harris Type 3 fracture of her right tibeal plateau. This is not a surgical lesion, but there is controversy about whether a cast or a brace is preferred.
