The 2012 election never really caught my attention, partly because all along I felt pretty confident about Obama's ability to win re-election. On Saturday, December 3rd, I went to the Kennedy Center to hear the National Symphony Orchestra perform Golijov's Sidereus, Britten's Violin Concerto, and Shostakovich's Symphony No. 1. Yesterday I went to the Kennedy Center with my boyfriend to hear the National Symphony Orchestra perform Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain, Sibelius' Violin Concerto, Liadov's The Enchanted Lake, and Nielsen's Symphony No. 5. I attended a couple of concerts last weekend. On Friday, April 8th, I went to Strathmore in Rockville to hear the Post-Classical Ensemble perform several rarely-played Stravinsky pieces: Symphonies for Wind Instruments, Concerto for Piano and Winds, and Les Noces.
