I still maintain that 'Robin of Sherwood' was and still is the finest telling of the Robin Hood legend ever. I tried watching the most recent BBC version and its just awful.

Dude. That new one is TERRIBLE. I watched a few eps when it started and was bored out my skull, which is pretty damning coming from someone who will happily watch Prince of Thieves AND the Errol Flynn version. I think the casting is pretty bad in that one, too, whereas RoS has some of the best.

Bad casting, bad costumes, bad acting, bad scripts, too many cliches, too much 'George Bush' in the Sheriff. Really, the only actor/character remotely interesting was Guy of Gisbourne so thats saying a lot... its truly astonishingly bad. I have a friend who thinks its fantastic... he keeps telling me its 'good family entertainment'... and I keep telling him if he wants good family entertainment, have them watch the Errol Flynn version.
