Sorry to hear that things on NY Ave. aren't going to well. Housing always sucks in one way or another, but don't fret! You'll only have to live there until your contract ends. :-)
Oh! and about your birthday present, I have waited to order it for 3 months now because Amazon keeps saying that it hasn't been released yet! AHhhhh! So, you will probably get a very, very, very late b-day present, if not at some point next Spring or so, but I promise that you'll like it!
Anyhow, have fun at the wedding, and I hope you have the best 23rd b-day a girl can have (after all, you're in NYC.)--and I'm sorry I can't be there for it and take you out on surprise bowling games!
