George R.R. Martin recently announced that he will release The Winds of Winter, the 6th book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series, after the start Season 6 of HBO’s series Game of Thrones. This means that the TV series will not pass and spoil the novels in some hypothetical future time, say the year 2018, but instead in a few short months.
