DUCKS!
There's a female Muscovy duck that shows up in our yard every once in a while that we feed. She started out with 13 babies several weeks ago, but now she's down to four. I've taken a liking to this particular duck (and her clutch) because she's not shy in the least. Whenever I'm feeding the geese she (and her ducklings) will cut straight through ( Read more... ) -

Since it's been so long since I've updated I'll put everything in one gigantic heap of a blog.
I went to North and South Carolina to see some friends of mine from online. One of them I had met, the other two I hadn't yet seen in the flesh. I'll post pictures soon. The trip was awesome.

For the past four days I've been on a pretty productive little break from work. The stars must've aligned or my boss must have accidentally doubled up on her Lexapro for a couple of weeks, but I was off Friday night, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I'm really feeling like crap now that I have to go back tonight.

Open water diving, revisited.
A few nights ago at the hospital I saw a man that I had originally met while getting open water dive certified. He, unlike myself, actively goes diving. I got the certification and haven't been in the water since. Chiefly due to my lack of finances and time, I gave up on diving. This is why I will not be travel nursing this year.
Every once in a while during winter there's a morning that reminds you what the summer will bring every day. Although it's a bitter cold outside (especially with pajamas on) the landscape took on a spring morning look... and I took a picture. Unfortunately the picture doesn't exactly convey how beautiful a morning it was, but you get the idea.

Trading up.
December 30th I traded in the '89 New Yorker for a 2001 Town Car. The New Yorker had become needy for parts, with something major happening about every month. On travel nursing way up north...
Okay, so a respiratory therapist and another nurse I work with juuuust about had me talked into traveling to Alaska in the beginning of 2008 (it's always been something I wanted to do).
