I got my first crank call at work today. Good one, fuckers. Learn to speak with a genuine Indian accent, and don't end your failed call by blurting out "penis".

I've been thinking this over for a while now, and come to the conclusion that I really haven't read anything when it comes to good literature. I'm devising a list of every book and reading ( Read more... )

That, my friend, is quite a fine looking list. Ender's Game, Slaughterhouse Five, Monte Cristo, and (especially) the Dark Tower are all fucking awesome, but do you actually have time for leisure reading? Since college has begun I've rarely had a tome NOT be in front of my face; in fact, as I type this Lao-tzu's "Tao Te Ching" rests in my lap. Plus, I'll be reading The Republic, Inferno, and The Prince in Human Event alone, so the two of us can finally sit in large, supple leather chairs, sip caramel macchiatos, and speak of books.

my roomate says you should read "rosencrantz and guildenstern are dead" after you read hamlet...and i suggest you read "the da vinci code"...my other favs include "the perks of being a wallflower" (for a lighter read), "of mice and men" (for an easy, saddening but classic "must" read) and "dinner at the homesick restaurant" (because it just fucking rules).

your list sounds very interesting and i might check some of those out

p.s. beowulf sucked...hardcore

I've read a few of those which I loved a lot (Slaughterhouse 5, mm gotta love vonnegut, Catcher and the Rye and Fight Club). I would highly recommend "Angels and Demons" by Dan Brown. Same author as Da Vinci Code, but this one has been my favorite of his hands down.
