Isabel and I were on our way to the park when I saw this butterfly in the bushes at our apartment. It let me get pretty close to take a picture. It's called a Red Admiral (Vanessa atalanta rubria), I believe.

My high school art teacher, Mr. Bennett, was a great teacher and widely loved by the students. One of the years I was there, he went on leave and we had a substitute art teacher. I'm upset about the Ontario Government's decision to comply with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's request to include RFID chips in all Ontario Driver's Licenses. Monkey for Quinn
Here is a photo of the sock monkey I made for Lori's new baby boy, Quinn. Although I had it done in time for her shower, I was having a terrible day on the day of the party and didn't make it to the party, so I will have to give it to her when she is home from the hospital.

First day of househunting
Today we went and saw seven houses for sale in the neighbourhood we're living in now. It was a pretty and warm October morning, perfect for choosing a house.
Most of the houses were not very nice. They had small rooms, small scrubby yards, and small kitchens. How could a house with three bedrooms have an even smaller kitchen than the apartment ( Read more... ) -

Biggest disappointment in North Austin of 2008
