Stiff, sore, still excited
This weekend was our first weekend to work on the house. It was exactly what we were hoping for. On Saturday, we took down the vintage (and, sadly, broken) garage door opener and installed a new one. New tricycle
Yesterday, I found a Craigslist posting for free moving boxes, and I jumped on it, since it has been harder to find free moving boxes since the city introduced the new recycling program that includes corrugate cardboard. It turned out to be a great experience, not just because of the free boxes, but because of the person I met in the process. ( Read more... ) -

Every now and then, when we saw something noteworthy while we were out househunting, I wished I could have taken my friends back to see some of the places we saw. But, almost as good, we have photos!

Completed project: Halloween skeleton
I bought this wooden skeleton form at Jo-Anne's after Halloween last year and it took me forever to get around to completing it. But I didn't want to pack it half-completed, so I finally sat down with my paint and my finest paintbrush and painted in the details.

What the?
We have new neighbours behind our bedroom wall. Aside from loud voices and a really loud television that usually goes off at midnight, this doesn't affect us much. But this morning, wow. Completed project: Christmas stocking
Okay, it's a bit late for Christmas, I know. I had this stocking up and running for Christmas eve & morning, but the inside seams weren't finished. And while I was at it, I added a few more snowflakes. I like the furry effect that the craft felt gave to the snowman. It was fun sewing in crimson Chinese silk, too.

This morning I woke up early to the sound of someone dropping something on the roof above my bed. Disconcerting. I couldn't reconcile the noise with my understanding that we have no upstairs neighbours.
