I ain't dead...

Sep 30, 2011 11:10

Crikey, I haven't updated here in ages and perhaps it's time I did. Life is er... a bit challenging at the moment but will hopefully improve sometime before Christmas. (Can't believe I'm talking about *Christmas*, where has the year gone?)

Wittering on... )

I really do hope J's operation happens soon - the poor thing :-(

*Meep* I do hope your stomach troubles don't turn out to be serious *Hugs & good vibes*

I can't believe that five years have gone by since S was born - it can't have done! I'm glad to hear he's found a lovely friend and has settled down at school.

Congratulations to R - I'm sure she will do really well.

Thanks, sweetie. *hugs* J's been in touch with the consultant's secretary and was given a date of the 20th. Oct. Which is young S's birthday. Sod's law. Anyway the woman was going to check and send another date and J now has a pre-op apt for Friday, so things are moving on apace now.

I'm pretty sure my stomach problems are not serious. I've been watching my diet recently and have been quite a lot better... morning nausea disappeared etc. (Also lost some weight.) The ultrasound will tell us a lot more hopefully.

I know... where did that 5 years go? Incredible.

Thank you. R really loves her new school, she was more than ready to move up.

I'm glad things are moving on - that's good news. *Fingers crossed all goes smoothly and quickly*

I would hope not. I would think they are in some ways stress related too. I hope the ultrasound goes well.

I know - crazy.

Oh, good.

*Hugs you*

Well, J's just been in contact with the sectretary again and the Fri apt's been cancelled because her surgeon is going to do her op at the Nuffield private hospital. Apparently he operates there on Wednesdays and usually has spaces in the schedule so he fits NHS patients in as and when. I suppose the NHS pays the Nuffield, I don't know... or care to be honest, just as long as it's done soon. So now she's just waiting to hear from the Nuffield who will arrnage everything apparently. Very relieved.

*Hugs you back*

It is too hot - though we have gorgeously misty mornings here at the moment...

Sorry to hear about Youngest Daughter, that sounds horrid - and you being poorly too... Shall be crossing my fingers that all works out well...

Mostly I'm sleepy right now, as I've been running up and down the A-roads visiting my mum who's staying with my auntie this week... and in two weeks time I will be leaving lovely autumn behind me and heading south for its spring to see her on her home ground too... I am excited about going travelling again, and I'm looking forward to checking out the bookshops... *g*

Thanks. I'm sure all will be fine eventually, though I'm doing a fair bit of worrying right now.

Have a wonderful time on your trip. Look forward to some posts about it when you get back. And *yay* for a completely new set of bookshops!!!

I hope your daughter doesn't have to wait too long for her operation.

I remember you mentioned your stomach problems, before the summer I think? It needs a proper checking if it's still bothering you though. At least when they know what it is something can be done about it.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Thank you. We're fairly sure the op will be sometime this month. It's quite scary to be honest and I worry. But she can't *not* have to operation - it's not an option - so I have to take a deep breath and cope with my worries.

Yes, I've been putting off having my stomach troubles properly looked into but you can't do that forever.

Thank you. :-)

Hope your daughter is better soon and you too!
This weather is very weird but as I was still waiting for Summer at the beginning of September I mustn't grumble.
Really enjoying the Great British Bake Off. We are rooting for Jo now but I wouldn't be surprised if Mary Anne won.

Thank you!

I had a feeling somehow that we would get one or two warm weeks before winter really sets in. It happens quite often.

I'm thinking that Mary Ann might be the winner too. I don't mind to be honest as they're all nice women who can bake.

Goodness! No wonder you haven't written. It's hard enough to keep everything on an even keel when one thing after another keeps happening. But oh how splendid about watching the grandchildren growing up. Keeping fingers crossed on the ultrasound.

Yes, as you know only too well, things can get pretty hairy at times and the energy to explain it all on LJ is just not there. I waited until I was feeling a bit more secure about the future (although I'm still worrying like crazy) before trying to explain what was going on to my lovely flist.

Thanks for your good wishes, sending mine to you too as know things with you are far from easy.

Thanks, P. It's looks like the op will be done in the next 3 or 4 weeks. I'm terrified for her to be honest but not having it done is not an option at all. Hopefully she'll be back to normal around about Christmas.
