So, the job search has not gone as super stellar as I had planned. Meaning, there was not a line of universities waiting at our doorstep when we moved in. I sent out letters to the people my friend suggested, and am applied to an actual job advertised (but have not heard anything, yet), and I plan to send out letters of inquiry and C.V to HR

I put in a good word with my Dutch academic friend (I *think* she's in Amsterdam). Hopefully she'll write back with some leads I can pass on. . . Good luck!

And I say evenings--as you say, more likely to have working people in the classes, which will hopefully provide still more networking.

And as it turns out, things in the Netherlands are not that far away, so If I was to do something in Utrecht, Leiden, etc., it would not be such a bad commute.
