I haven't seen a chipmunk here, but last week I saw my first groundhog/woodchuck. I didn't know what it was until I Googled the rodent family and looked at all the pictures. It was so big!
Your poor uncle. Hives are miserable. I get them from certain medications but not food.
The chipmunk is really cute - but it sounds as if occasional visits are preferable to them being close, close neighbours!
Your poor BiL - trying to sort out such an exclusion diet most be really difficult.
I am coming to the, very unChristian, conclusion that the longer that lot insist they won't be vaccinated, and won't respect precautions, the more they will die out...
Another adorable visitor! I do love chipmunks, but yes, it'd be a lot nicer if they were only occasional visitors here - they've been undermining our foundations to the point where Dad has to go on regular killing sprees just to limit the damage. Sad, because I do love them, but necessary when there are so many around causing trouble.
Oh man, I'm sorry to hear about your brother-in-law. Just wild how things like that can hit, even late in life like that, and even worse when the allergies are so all over the place and the cause is ambiguous. Where food is involved it can be so consuming, because it affects SO many decisions every day and it's so hard to avoid a lot of those things. :/
I hope you have a good time with your sister! I'd love to hear what you think of Black Widow.
Holy cow, the chipmunks go after foundations?? Do they tunnel under, I guess? That makes me VERY glad I've only seen 3 in 30 years!
I can't imagine how difficult it is to avoid corn, here in the US. :( I feel for my BiL but I'm glad he's got it more or less under control.
I will be sure to post my non-spoilery thoughts on BW! (I suspect a lot of them will consist of "THEATER POPCORN AT LAST AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!" flailing. *g*
Yeah, our house is built into a hill, so the chipmunks have gone crazy burrowing through and around the retaining walls and it can just wreak havoc. I never would have thought they'd cause those kinds of problems, but there you are! Not just bird feeder banditry to worry about, sadly. XD
2a) there are idiots everywhere, dear, not just over there in your country. 2b) they have always been idiots, only we didn't realize it till now. it's incredible how much stupidity this pandemic brought to surface.
I keep thinking I'll put up a FB post reflecting how I feel and urging people to listen to real science and not fringe stuff and "InTErWeBz DoCToRs" and "bUt My PaStoR sEz iT's tHe MaRk oF tHe BEaST aNd YoU'LL nO loNgEr bE hUmaN!!" but then I realize it'd really be just spitting into the wind, so I just quietly seethe until I can't take it anymore and have to vent here. :/ (And no disrespect to genuine pastors and reverends; it's the extremist right-wing ones out there that are driving me bananas.)
