think what you want, just try and prove some of the stories in the bible with science.....i think that people like to believe in religion because knowing that you go to heaven, just feels good. if someone you love died, your going hope that they're in the best place possible...so i believe, its ok to believe in an afterlife if it makes you feel better...as long as you dont go overboard and sacrafice stuff and whatnot... i guess it all depends on the individual. Me, i dont believe in anything, but i can understand why people DO believe in god or whatever...it just feels good to know you and your loved ones are going to a nice place when they die.

hmm, good point. but i feel like i do believe in heaven. i heard this one story about a guy who talks to ghosts. he died once and he was describing heaven, it sounded pretty realistic. he said thats he arrived in an elevator and there were a whole bunch of people around him who he didn't know and saying "hey i was there the one time when you..." then he saw his grandpop and he was like "hey what are you doing here, it's not your time yet." then the guy woke up saying "grandpa i don't wanna go back" so after that story, i'm not really sure what to believe.

a lot of people believe in god and all that because they need some type of insurance.. its like people are so scared to die that they need an insurance that they will be ok... "if you die, i can not fully bring you back to earth, but i can bring you somewhere far better, and thats my guarentee"- gods guarentee

I can see where your comming from with the whole.. how is there Hell if he forgives all.. Well God is willing to forgive every soul- - yet the person has to give a little to get a little.. if you commit a horrible sin of like murder or something.. He won't just let you off the hook. You must go to him and ask for him to forgive you of your sins, and you have to be real and true about it, it must come from your heart. At that point in time, he sees that you are a better person and you realize what you did and blah blah blah. So there is a Hell because some people simply just do not believe, care, know, or just go committing sins over and over without asking for forgiveness. That is why they will later on end up in Hell. you can ask God at any time you want to forgive you for your sins and he doesnt forget about them, but he knows that its okay now and your good to go. i believe in God.. and thats my response to you.

ok, god is the answer, the creator, the reason for all things to be in existence and the setter of purpose. god is a variable we use to explain the unexplainable. That's what gods have always been for, for explanation and for control. Heaven and hell were started as a simple control factor in mainstream religion. If you're bad in life, youre stuck with eternal damnation, but if youre good and follow the rules we've laid out, then youre in for an eternity of pleasure. The actual existence of a god is not important, it's easier just to say "yes, there is a god, and he created the universe and he created time and blahblahblah." simply for the reason of moving past the unnatainable. We're cursed with a consciousness of our surroundings and of our own existance, to think of life as pointless would make us lose our drives to live, and therefor we'd most likely die off as a species, so divine hope is a natural element set to ensure the propagation of the species ( ... )

ok why dont you guys give your names when you put a comment....if you truely believe in god or whatever, you wont be ashamed of what other people think about what your saying to defend it...actually. there is no reason to defend it as long you the individual believe in it to feel better. like i said before, to some people it doesnt matter how unreal it may seem, as long as it makes you feel better about death.....this is why i dont like it when people ask why i dont believe in god and try to get me to believe, because what i say sometimes makes them think and question the religion and i dont like to take away the faith that some people have...they're happy so whats the harm in a little religion?
