[It's rather late at night when the journal clicks on. Luke had waited until he had calmed down from the nightmare he had to make the post, and good thing, too. Otherwise it'd catch the tremor he surely had in his voice.

Instead, he merely sounds subdued, and maybe a little hesitant.]Does anyone have any good stories to tell ( Read more... )

[Noel should have been in bed earlier because of that dream journal she was supposed to be recording for Paprika, but there's been a number of things in mind that have been keeping her awake.

...somehow, she's not too surprised to see Luke up at this hour for some reason.]

You're having trouble sleeping?

[Luke is often awake at stupid o'clock in the morning due to being an insomniac, but he's trying to work on that. It isn't working out too well, obviously.

Noel's voice makes him glance at the journal - She might see a bit of red hair, as he has a lamp with a soft light on.]

Yeah... It's not a big deal, I just can't get back to sleep.

[Hello, Luke's hair.]

Hmm... whenever I had trouble getting to sleep, a glass of milk usually helped a little. It's a worth a shot if you haven't tried it yet. [...or if you have milk in your house.]

[... Yeaaah, he can't help making a face.]

Why would you drink milk at night? It makes my stomach hurt!

[voice] Pommy might not get him back to sleep, but he might amuse him bemyused August 16 2011, 10:00:05 UTC
[Pommy's already spent a lot of time wandering around Luceti during the nights, so this time he's staying inside for a change of pace, trying to get used to the journal system. It's a little lonely, so he's glad when he hears Luke's voice, even if Luke sounds a little sad.]

Myu, Pommy can't think of any stories right now, but Pommy heard that if you drink warm milk, it might make you sleepy.

[The new voice makes him lift his head a little... but he makes a face at the suggestion, cringing and just shy of sticking out his tongue.]

Warm milk? Uugh... Milk's gross enough as it is!

[voice] LOL Pommy, continue failing in your lack of helpfulness! bemyused August 16 2011, 16:00:37 UTC
[Pommy blinks, rather confused.]

Myu, you don't like milk? O-okay then. [Pause for a moment of thought.] Do a lot of exercise to tire yourself out?

[Luke shoots the journal another irritated look before he turns his head away. It's not his fault that milk makes him feel sick. D| Especially warm milk, uuugh.]

I've got a roommate... I don't want to wake him up. [He hasn't noticed that there's light coming through the bottom of his door.]

[no advice to be given from over here, Mewtwo just sleeps when he wants....which apparently isn't now. ~CATS~

[Oh hey Mewtwo. Luke pauses before he grabs a pen - He never likes writing, but he does it for Mewtwo's sake.]

Any kind, I guess.

[There's a delay before this message goes through, while Mewtwo thinks of a story he knows all the way through and writes it down.]A very long time ago, humans built a city. To show their gratitude to Pokemon, they built a tower in the east and a tower in the west, where two great birds with rainbow and silver feathers could rest and be revered ( ... )

[Huh... Mewtwo was a Pokemon, right? There must've been different kinds... And three of them were killed by a storm. That's kind of sad... Even though they were brought back to life. It's a nice story... though he has to write after reading it.]

Why didn't the birds come back? Were they angry?

[...you sound less like a brat than before, Luke. This is a positive sign.]

I know a few stories.

...and I've always relied on hot tea with honey to cure a bad bout of insomnia.

Hot tea with honey? I never tried that before...

[He shifts, as if he's getting out of bed.]

What kind of stories do you know? [And soft footsteps. Yup, he's gonna try this hot tea thing.]

Try to make it as sweet as you can.

...I know a lot of stories. Myths and legends, by and large, from home. A few books from the library that I still have out. Do you want something longer, or a bit shorter?

Heh, I can't have it unsweet. Thanks... I'll try that pretty soon.

[There's a pause as if shifts, sitting up in bed.] Myths and legends... Probably longer. It might... uh, take me a while to get back to sleep.

[That nightmare he had was pretty bad and all... Every time it feels like he's going to drift off, he sees it all again. Blood, sickly purple mud, pleading eyes...]

Then I must ask whether you really wanted a solution, or if your real answer was to have a few friends to talk to.

Well... [... She's got him there. He'd love to get back to sleep, but he's sure he can't without talking to a few people he knows and trusts.]
