I honestly don't understand it either. The only times I ever call Rick "Richard" is when I'm mad at him.

Oh yeah, anger doesn't count. It's not regular conversation, and it's usually in private.

I totally get annoyed with that. I call my boyfriend Ben not "Benjamin". Why call him that, when he obviously doesn't ask to be called by his full name. That's two more syllables and I am lazy.

I hate that. And the whole Steve/Stephen is actually c common occurance with my friend Mallori. Everyone else calls him Steve, or maybe Steve-O. It just seems too formal for someone you're supposedly so close to. The ONLY time I ever call any guy by their full name (or include their middle name) is if they do something that irritates me/do something too nice/to get their attention.

Oh, yeah. I totally understand that kind of full name stuff. My profiles have been seen to read "I love Ronald Joseph Short." I just don't get the "Ronald Joseph and I..." kind of thing! :)
