I like this rather different interpretation of the "Bagoas" scene, and in fact, the entire Bagoas story, as in The Persian Boy. To me, historically it's much more probable that whenever Hephaistion was away on a mission, Alexander would be privately worried about him and miss him, and not rest till he was back. Rather than jump into bed with his Persian courtier. Your Alexander is very sweet here - including his exasperation with his close friends at dinner.

Ok, way delayed reply, but it's been a very busy two weeks or so. Thanks so much for the FB! I like to try a find new ways to portray old scenes. And for that matter, new ways to portray the characters - mainly not angst ridden and hurting each other/themselves.

Nothing wrong with a sweet, faithful and observant Alexander. Plus they are old friends, so I imagine that they got some teasing when they were younger. After all, they all grew up together.
