I just learned today that I have been awarded a fully funded position with the Byrd Polar Research Group at OSU!
The Graduate Research Associate position is a 2 year tuition, fees, and stipend position allowing me completion of my Masters research while being responsible for an outreach program between BPRC and the Columbus Zoo. UNBELIEVABLE!

So, a few weak tornadoes decided to touchdown in the area yesterday.  I had no idea of the potential (there really wasn't any) of seeing tornadoes yesterday.  Another case of the "imperfect" conditions coming together to cause tornadoes in the area.  The following is a summary from the National Weather Service.

Ok, So after a small derailment in life over the past month, things are at least moving again.  C has a couple of prospects for jobs.  Even though I have yet to hear from WKEF, I am keeping my hopes up but moving on a little.  I have made the necessary phone calls and financial aid verification in order to return to classes in the Spring.  Thanks ( Read more... )

So, the computer models are still slightly differing on path and precip for this next storm, but the best guidance would lean toward a healthy dose of snow from this one.  Snow should start falling on Friday from 8-10 am.  From here, we should see a 2-4 inch snowfall by Friday evening.  I would not be suprised if it lightens up at this point, ( Read more... )

  
Well, here we go again.  Another storm moving in our direction, and the computer models are all over the place.  However, the general trend of all the models has been to trend the storm a little farther south.  What does that mean for us?
