I figured you'd wait until you read the book! Can't wait to hear any other thoughts on the covers as well!

She looks like the cover of an emo-punk album

YES!!! That's it exactly!

Give the sequel some time. But I will warn you, if you feel this strongly about the covers before reading it, just wait until AFTER. :)

I seem to be the outsider, but I like the cover of THE DEAD TOSSED WAVES in set #2. I don't like any of the others, though. The models in set #1 look too bland, and I'm not much of a fan of the gaze to the bottom-right corner. THE FOREST OF HANDS AND TEETH cover in set #1 is, in contrast, too vivid, IMO. The eyeliner, the model, the stuck-in-the-middle of brambles - I don't like it.

I think TDTW #2 is a good balance between the two, while taking advantage of the striking image of the zombie-sea.

But I hate mismatched book covers. :/

Interesting.

What you like is what's available for hardcover collections. :)

Well dang, I just picked this up from the library, but now I'm not very excited about reading it. I loved Forest of Hands and Teeth, so I disappointed in hearing that this basically the same story again.

You may enjoy this more than I did, and you do get more of the world this time.

:( Can't vote, sorry. I'm a half-and-half girl. I love the first set cover of Forest and the second set cover of Dead-Tossed.

Shame on me for not thinking of making that an option!
