This was fantastic. Balanced and insightful description of each man's inner hurt. Hoping the finale helps the wounds start to heal.

Thank you so much! They both have such different ways of, not only seeing the world, but expressing inner hurt. I'm glad that this worked, and totally agree with your hopes for the finale.

Cheers!

Peter's quip about pulling the life support on faith was gut wrenching. Great fic, thanks.

Neal is hurt and Peter angry, and yes, yes, yes worry + rescue ! My babies ♥ Peter taking care of Neal, oh my, it's so well written, baby, h/c and, and, WHAT ? No o___O He can't leave Neal alone like that :(

You are right it's not the comfort I was looking for. Tbh, the end disappointed me. But all of the above was wonderful ♥ Thank you for writing one of my prompts.

I'm so sorry you didn't like the ending. If this weren't an episode tag I probably would have done it differently, but at that point in time Peter didn't know what was going on with Neal and the awful bargain he struck with Hagen, and Neal was not about to tell him. I generally try to keep the characters and their relationships as close to canon as I can, and I think this is where they were.

I'm not trying to change your mind about your thoughts on the ending; I just wanted you to know why I went in that direction. Believe it or not, the last scene is a bit softer than it was up until about an hour before I posted it. I am glad you enjoyed the rest of it - maybe next time!

Ouch, indeed. At least we know some of this will get resolved.

Thanks for reading!
