That production overwhelmed and deeply inspired me in its sheer depth of performance, commitment, and musicality. Leaving me pondering. And now that's all I got at the moment -- that baby was LONG and now it's sleepy time. I'm definitely going to be behind on the ZZZZs tomorrow.

Sitting on the runway at the Salt Lake City airport in a big ol' thunderstorm. Pilot said "Sorry folks, gotta wait for this storm to pass. Short posts because there isn't internet at the house and I've just got my phone to post with. But today is a beautiful sunny day that the weather forecast did not have me see coming, and I'm walking along the water with two Black and Blues (Guinness and Wachusset Blueberry Ale) in my belly, and all is right with the world. :)

Given that I'm a musical theatre actor, people are always surprised to find out that I'm not obsessed with doing karaoke.  I really don't like it, actually -- I'm too much of a perfectionist, and what I love about singing has far less to do with loving having everyone watching me than it does for most musical theatre folks, I think.

So I've been looking for a cute and large-ish purse/bag in order to facilitate carrying certain things like my music binder, and as I was at DSW today for some warm weather shoes, I figured oh good, I'll find something here.  I happened upon a green one that I really liked..... and then was extremely annoyed to discover that it was priced at $270 ( Read more... )

I never met her personally, but I felt connected to her as she was the first to play Sally Bowles (and won a Tony for it) in the Sam Mendes revival of Cabaret, which I was on tour with two years, and I have a number of friends who were in the production with her on Broadway.  I have tremendous respect for her as an actress, ( Read more... )
