Yeah.

I've kind of...given up on the EU for a while. I'm not enjoying it anymore & it seems like they're retreading the same ground, drawing out a plot needlessly to sell 9 hardcover books, so...yeah, for the moment Star Wars & I are officially on a break :(

Yeah, no joke about retreading. Also in the same chapter? Mandos attacking the Jedi Temple. With as much as that's been written, that has to be like a daily occurrence on Coruscant. "Oh it's 3:15? Time for the Mandos to invade the Temple again." Are you kidding me?

EXACTLY.

Really, this could've easily been wrapped up in a trilogy if Lucas & Co. weren't so set on making a crapload of cash.

And WHY? Why break up Jag & Jaina AGAIN? We've DONE THAT, just like we've FOUGHT THE SITH for the last umpteen books! /rant

Sorry that the books are just not doing it for you at the moment. I gave up long ago. I was even thinking about selling my old books - which is kind of sad.

You know, I'd really thought that the EU couldn't drag a relationship out more than they did Luke and Mara's. Jaina and Jag have simply left them in the dust. It's ridiculous.

The thing that is missing from the EU at this point is plausible character development/growth. Period. This key element has been scarce since NJO. I know that NJO wasn't everyone's favorite but the characters typically learned from their mistakes and their triumphs (it wasn't always easy and they sometimes had to revisit those places but even that is plausible).

Sadly, it seems EU has decided that the vampirish tendency to return to the same issues for centuries has infiltrated our favorite space opera. I DON'T WANT ANGSTY STORYLINES THAT BELONG IN STORIES ABOUT SPARKLY VAMPIRES. I want adventure, plotlines, banter, character growth, and lots and lots of snark. Is that too much to ask?
