Ficlet: Bye Baby Bunting

A short stand-alone that's kind of a companion piece for yesterday's little tale that kept me distracted when I should really, really be working. Oh, dear.

Title: Bye baby Bunting
Set: Pre-BtVS, New York
Characters: Drusilla

I know! I feel like I'm spamming you all after all this time.

It went well in that they found nothing, but not so well in that we now move to level 2 testing and can I say - bleh...

Poor love. Have to feel for her, really.

You write such an amazing Dru -- you understand her, and make us understand and sympathise with her as well. Lovely ficlet.

Understand her in that we share a degree of barkingness, perhaps ;) Sadly I don't have Spike to make it better. Spike could make anything better.

Except possible my stupid internet connection - it's determined to drive me Dru tonight.

Sorry more prodding to come.
I'm fair to middling, thanks.
The new crowd are for the most part loud and still don't recgnise the connection between actions and consequences...

Hee! I assisted at a school trip today, and was put with the reception/class 1 tiddlers. It was like trying to herd very small, noisy cats. But they did come out with such gems (eg Farmer: "Just you stand back. I need to see to the electric fence so we can go see the chickens." Jake (aged 4 and three quaters): "Oh, wow! Electric chickens!" and "Miss! Miss! I know what sort of farm this is! It's orgasmic!") and they were so enthusiastic and full of wonder about it all. But - actions and consequences - yep, know exactly what you mean after today!

Wonderful Dru voice - insane but always making a sort of sense, full of pathos even though she's pure evil.

Gorgeous story - and two in two days is marvellous after a drought!

Good luck with the poking and prodding.

Thank you! I sort of like writing Dru, which probaly points to something worrying in my character.

Two in two days feels like I'm spamming! I need to leap on the odd free hour when I can; the first one had been fiddled with for quite long enough and the second one was being all distracting so - out they go.

Writing like that
never counts as spamming, believe me!

Hello!

You've been busy too I see! I'm going to finish replying and then rush over and read your latest (internet connection allowing - bloody thing keeps hanging up on me). I could do with a laugh and just the premise raised a giggle. And some of the Epic, too! You spoil us, Madam Ambassador.

In small doses.

I'm not at home at the moment so my reading (and writing) is a bit intermittent. I hope to catch up on Friday night.

Not at home, huh?

*gives best imitation of suggestive Spike-type smirk*

Oh, yeah?

Anywhere exciting?
