Let it snow!

It's SNOWING! Big fat flakes that have already covered the ground with a good inch of fluffy whiteness. I LOVE the snow and will be dragging the unwilling preteens out in it to build a snowman as soon as I can. The woods look glorious, like a somewhat OTT Christmas card, but so pretty. We have to get A LOT of snow to be considered snowed in (darn that Midwestern toughness), but I love unexpected snow days. I hope you wake up to inches of the white stuff tomorrow!

Snow has been a relative rarity over the past years, especially in the south. But even when it was a regular event, it still seemed to take those in charge of keeping things moving by surprise.

It's stopped snowing and the sun has come out. It's sparkling prettily on the snow and casting long shadows through the trees. Pretty!

I'm hoping that we get some. And if not us, then at least some for D-d in York - she is desperate for enough snow to build a snowman.

Hils posted that it was snowing quite hard in York, so there's hope...

I looked at the two webcams a few minutes ago and there's no sign of it. The city centre appears to have a little snow-less ecosystem of its own - there is often snow all over Yorkshire except for a circle of about a mile radius around the Minster!
