1920s dresses
I have decided to make a 1920s dress for the next event at Sanctuary. I desperately needed a project, and this one came along just in time. I also found out about it in time to make this plan feasible.

corset construction

Of Veils and Purple Roses
I finally found some purple roses for the new veil that are just the right size and color. I found them in Wal-Mart, of all places, after failing to find what I had in mind at Jo-Ann's or Michaels'. There's just one catch: they have no stems. There is a hole where it looks like you could add a stem. I don't know enough about these types of crafts ( Read more... ) -
upcoming class
My current classes are almost over. Thursday is the last Form and Draping class. There might be one more Serger class after tomorrow, but this is undecided (confusion after one class was canceled due to snow several weeks ago). Awesome veils
I have finished the purple sparkly tulle ball gown skirt (pictures forthcoming at some point). I mentioned that I got enough fabric for a matching veil. I have been looking around in stores for additional veil making materials-I want the headpiece to have purple, black and possibly white roses. Unfortunately I have not found anything suitable yet. Purple Sparkly Tulle
a few weeks ago I went to Jo-Ann Fabrics and wandered down the aisle with the remainder of the Halloween fabrics, at 70% off. I saw something that I had somehow overlooked earlier: black tulle with purple sparkles. The moment I saw it, all I could think of was the classic Goth ballgown skirt with an overlay of netting. On the uses and philosophy of Livejournal posting
It's not that I didn't know about Livejournal before. I've known about it for years.
