Because of my earlier post, I find people wish to know more! Therefore, I wrote this up quickly. It's rough. Loveless savvy people, PLEASE CORRECT ME if there's anything I messed up on, or you want to add/subtract.

If there's anything anyone wants me to clarify, just ask <3

For those who want a brief overview before reading Usagi's AWESOME AND AMAZING guide, I present to you, SPELL BATTLES: the short and sweet version.

SO BASICALLY,
There are two teams who fight against each other using spells.

TEAMS:
Each team has a name and is made up of a Sacrifice and a Fighter.

Name:
The name does not need to end with "-less," despite common belief, even if most of the teams in canon do. XD For example, see 'Beloved' and 'ZERO'. Unless you were created, like ZERO, or special, like Soubi and the rest of camp, you're born with your name. There is one other person out there who has the same name as you: your partner. In addition to fighting, the bond formed by the name can be used to heal. As long as physical contact is maintained, sleeping or resting or simply concentrating on wanting to heal will help the team recover. However, I don't know if this applies to all injuries, or just injuries inflicted by the battle.

Some teams have the name visible at all times (such as ZERO), other teams only have the name visible when the battle system is activated (such as iirc BELOVED). It's entirely up to the players whether or not your character keeps his/her name, but I'd like to ask that you decide as a pair. If only half the team keeps the name, it's essentially ripping the team apart which is badbadbadbadbad.

Sacrifice:
The Sacrifice is the one in control of the pair. S/he'd be the one who commands the Fighter on what to, the strategist, as well as the one who takes the damage. But s/he doesn not come up with the spells--that's the Fighter's job. Thus, "Sacrifice".

Fighter:
The Fighter should listen to the Sacrifice and does as told. S/he would be the one who can visualize something vivdly, because that's the key to a spell, as well as the words. S/he's also the one that would come up with the spell and vocalize it. Thus, "Fighter".

the Sacrifice would say "Use rain!" and the Fighter would say "Water of a thousand seas, fall from the skies and drench the lands" or something along those lines. ...see below in "spells" for clarification.

SPELL BATTLES:
A battle typically begins with each team declaring their name. It's up to the team whether or not to include a spell with it (ZERO, for example, does, but not all do.)

Spell:
Basically, the more eloquently phrased (the prettier) a spell is, the stronger it is. However, the Fighter has to be able to visualize what exactly it is they want. The clearer they can do that, the stronger the spell would be. Something like "Sheild!" would work, but would probably be shattered easily. Something like, "Stronger than steel, the air hardens, impossible to penetrate" would do the same, but would hold up a lot better. Likewise with offensive spells, "Burning strong, a sea of flames unable to be stopped" would be more effective than "Fire!" The Sacrifice should also be able to tell the Fighter how to counter an attack; using the other Fighter's spell against them is a good strategy.
(note: my spells suck, don't copy me. I'm Sacrifice for a reason XD)

Example: Soubi used "stars" against "darkness", which was countered by "dark clouds", which Soubi then used to call down "lightning".

Also, if a Fighter is good (and fast) enough, a spell can be rebounded before the Sacrifice suffers any sort of damage. Likewise, a Fighter may try to break a restraint on his/her Sacrifice, but the opposing Fighter may "insist" that the bonds remain. It all comes down to who's faster and who's more eloquent at any given moment.

ADDITION1(thank you Kio):
The way a person says things shapes the outcome of the spell: details here. BLUE MEANS CLICK.

Bondage:
When an attack gets through, the Sacrifice either recieves physical damage or some kind of restraint. These are uncomfortable and/or painful, and may not always appear instantly. When the Sacrifice is completely restrained or unable to continue, the fight is over.

Example: Soubi drastically cooled the air in his fight against ZERO. The boys felt only the physical effects (the numbness, begining frostbite, inability to move) until they were unable to fight. Only then did the bonds wrap around Youji.

Magical attacks affect only the Sacrifice; attacks with physical elements, such as "raining needles" only affect the Sacrifice as well. However, attacks that changed the enviroment (changing the weather, for example), affects both Fighter and Sacrifice but the Sacrifice takes more damage. Natsuo and I figured about 70%-30% damage, Sacrifice-Fighter, but don't take my word for it. All I can say for sure is that Sacrifice takes more damage.

OH YEAH BY THE WAY? Physical attacks are AGAINST THE RULES. As in, you're technically not allowed to punch people, kick them, nail their hand(s) to the ground..........

An example of how a Loveless style fight might be played goes here. This was ZERO against Innocence (Allen and Nishi) that the four of us played out back in October. PLEASE NOTE. not all fights have to be as serious (or as LONG) as this one. The fights can be much shorter and crackier, and can be done in many many many ways. Have fun with it! I mean, honestly. A Fighter in canon called up giant rubber ducks.

ALSO. The weekend probably won't be until March/April TIME UNDER CONSIDERATION I wanna do it earlier D:. Sooo...if you wanna play and have a partner in mind that's not here yet, WHORE FOR THEM HARD! XDDD
