Busou Renkin: butterfly thongs, "PENETRATE!" and a guy with a moon face
That's right - this is a canon pimping post! Of sorts! If you end up wanting to app anyone, that would be faaaabulous~, but I'm really here to talk about it and see if I can get anyone to watch it. See, I'm being nice. ♥
Before we start:

Okay now we can move on. The opening is just so epic it has to be shared.
Busou Renkin ("Arms Alchemy") is a typical shounen series: shounen retards, fighting for justice, fighting off Bad Tough Bad Guys, THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP!!! and so on and so forth. I'm not going to mince words here, it's just so typically shounen sometimes that you just have to laugh at it. But what makes BR great are the characters (Papillon is the whole reason I picked up the series anyways, not gonna lie).
The plot! Well, it's basically about an Average High School Kid who meets a Badass Tsundere, and gets tangled up in the hidden world of alchemy. So he takes his Busou Renkin and fights alongside the girl to get rid of the big bad human-eating homunculi. However, just because the main character is a shounen hero doesn't make things easier for him - he has to make several Tough Decisions through the series.
Vague? Why yes - because you should watch it instead of me tell you everything. ♥
Let's move on to the characters, since these ones need to be in camp~
MUTOU KAZUKI (16, camper)
Our doofus shounen retard hero, ladies and gentlemen! Kazuki comes included with:
• A lance that glows with ENERGYYYY for PENETRATE!!!ing things.
• A fantastic sense of priority.
• INCREDIBLE DRAWING SKILLS!
• A super-cute younger sister named Mahiro, who is basically a female version of Kazuki.
• A trio of bros who bring him porn and hides his stash, and sometimes compares sizes with. :')
• ~Moments~ and canon het with Tokiko.
• Foe Yay with Papillon. Yeah.
• The privilege of being the only person allowed to call Papillon his real name.
TSUMURA TOKIKO (17, camper)
Also fondly referred to as "Scar-tan" by fans, Tokiko is an awesome heroine that comes with:
• Valkyrie Skirt, which is a bunch of scythes that come from her legs.
• Intense fighting spirit, as well as being a well-trained Alchemy Warrior. She knows what she's doing and doesn't mess around.
• ~Moe~
• Tsun~dere~
• Canon het with Kazuki, and his sister loves Tokiko a lot, too!
CAPTAIN BRAVO (27, counselor of FUCKING AWESOME)

One of the best things about Busou Renkin, he's another Alchemic Warrior that is 100% gar. Bravo comes with:
• A real name of course, but it's a secret. Why? BECAUSE IT'S COOLER THAT WAY!
• A Busou Renkin that is an indestructable jacket. That means he kicks ass with his fists.
• A MATURE shounen retard (yes that totally makes sense). That means he's on the same wavelength as Kazuki.
• Awesome big brother figure!
• ... I took more caps of Bravo than needed, so here have some extra. Hurnahurna.
NAKAMURA GOUTA (17, camper)
Gouta isn't introduced until closer to the end, unfortunately, but he's not minor! Gouta is another Alchemic Warrior, so he's trained - or rather, still training - and eventually joins Kazuki and Tokiko to form a happy threesome. Gouta comes with:
• Cute droopy eyes. ♥
• A fancy chakram Busou Renkin that can be thrown, put onto his hand as a fist weapon, or even put onto his feet to use like rollerblades. VERSATILE.
• A big huge crush on Tokiko. D'awww.
• A tendency to compare himself to Kazuki.
Other characters? Why yes!
• The Hayasaka twins, Shusui and Ouka. They have a sad backstory and incest vibes. They also should have been in the series more, but thankfully they do show up again after their initial story arc.
• Angel Gozen, the smarmy little mascot.
• The Alchemy Warriors, which contains a lot of Win Minor Characters such as Shousei with his GIANT SUIT OF ARMOR and beating of Hiwatari, the hot-tempered Hiwatari who ignites my ooc panties, and so on.
• L.X.E., which is run by Papillon's great-great-grandfather and contains the guy with the moon for a face named Moonface. Also, Papillon's sense of fashion runs in the family. YEAH.
• Victor, who is the Final Boss of the series. Let's leave it at that.
IN SUMMARY:
► The series is short and completed, so no need to read/watch something every week, and it can be marathoned!
► The 26-episode anime is up on veoh, as well as here! As for the manga, scanlations for it were never finished, but they're on OneManga as well. The anime faithfully follows the manga, except for a few things that were removed (though the removed material doesn't change anything at all).
