[It's a beautiful day in Camp-the sun is shining (though there is shade for vampires), the birds are singing (but not taunting anyone), and there is a magnificent spread complete with all sorts of food (including human flesh for those so inclined). Above all this reads a huge banner:]
PRIDE!
Be proud of who you are!

[You look familiar. . . But the voice is wrong.]

. . . Are you a Death?

[Also the bracelet is confusing . . .]

[Isn't wearing his robes--in a 1920's gangster sort of suit]

I am an agent of death, señorita. Not Death itself.

[Death has been known to wear other things like leather coats . . .]

Oh--what are you in charge of doing?

Ushering souls to the other side. Although, here, I'm just a travel agent.

. . . That sounds like an euphemism for your job.

I'm Tiffany Aching. From The Disc.

Oh, it is. But I'm just as trapped as you are--I can't bring any souls to the Afterlife from here, no matter how badly they're overdue.

Nice to meet you, Señorita Aching--call me Manny. Where's the Disc?

The balance here is rather . . . off.

It's another world. And it's flat, so I'm not sure if it's a planet.

[It's okay to talk about those things when it's an agent of Death . . .]

We have our own Death. He looks a bit like you.

Interesting... didn't think the uniform was that well-known outside of where I'm from.

The robe and scythe? Or the skeleton? It's fairly common even in this world.

I was thinking more the robe and scythe. Being a skeleton is just how souls look, usually.

That's different then . . . Souls usually look like the person they really are.

Strange thing to be different.

I think it's the different worlds. Or dimensions. I haven't found any other flat worlds sitting on the backs of elephants standing on a turtle yet outside a few myths and legends.

That doesn't sound like the most likely thing to repeat itself. A lot of things could go wrong.

...Do the elephants ever get tired?
