[an indeterminate period of time ago (mainly because i am too damn lazy to look it up) your characters may have found themselves in the strangest of places - the minds of other people. There, they could learn all sorts of interesting things about their fellow detainees, such as their horrible love for disco ( Read more... )

[Listening in on the various languages, trying to match them to what he's learned about the time period since it's obvious to him that wherever this is,it's a time that has long passed.

Also, regarding that angel steadily.]

*The light coming off of the statue is bright. Glaring, even. You can't look at it too long without it starting to hurt. If you want to reach it, it's a bit of a walk away. It looks like it's on top of a building of some sort...*

[Not particularly interested in religious artifacts, especially ones that are clearly more than they seem. Will be heading toward the Vatican instead, to see if he can make sense of this.]

*Why does everyone go to the Vatican? :<

The crowds don't seem to like this idea much. Or maybe it is just coincidence that they suddenly become much more difficult to maneuver your way through once you decide to head in that direction.*

[It's a big recognizable place! Also, is very good when it comes to dealing with crowds. Weaving in and out with his noodlely self.]

*They stop short of actually pushing back, but they do have an unfortunate habit of stopping in your path or standing so close together that it is hard to get by. The voices are still talking to one another. If you can understand any of the languages, they seem to be saying that it is impossible to get through up ahead and that everyone should really just go home. Even if you can't, you might be able to pick up on their tone.*

[Picks up on most of that and curses to himself, while trying to see if there's any other path available through the mass.]

*Nope, not really. There are some side streets around, but this is the main route. If you choose to take them, though, they do seem much emptier...

Occasionally you might notice papers in with the general trash that accumulates on busy streets. They seem to be in Italian for the most part.*

[Going to snatch up one of those papers while ducking into one of those side streets for the moment.]

*How good is your Italian? It seems oddly... personal for such a professional looking notice. The name Vannozza appears in it a few times. Even if you can't read all of it it certainly seems slanderous.

If you keep going down this street, you may notice a few more papers like this one, either posted up or lying where they fell or were blown in. There are no people down this way and you are more shaded from the sun.*

[Not super awesome, mostly enough to get by. But he knows his history and can probably get the gist.]

So that is what this place is...

[Checking out a few more papers.]

*They seem equally harsh. There is one on the Puttana di Babylon, a lewd picture of a man fornicating with a bull, so forth.

It is possible, by the way, to navigate these side streets up towards the Vatican and in this way avoid the crowds.*

Tch, such puerile trash.

[Will be doing just that then.]

*The clouds that were off in the distance start to roll in as you get closer to the walls around the Holy See. There is an entranceway in the wall somewhere, if you want to look for it.*

[Gauging those clouds first.]

*Storm clouds!

Dark, heavy, not yet sounding with thunder.*
