SUDDENLY: MISTLETOE.

Well gosh! It's all so festive, y'all!

[TODAY, there is mistletoe everywhere. Hanging over obnoxious cabin overhangs, planted in inappropriate spots in the mess hall, twisted around various poles and the few trees in farm camp - you name it, you can probably find it there.

I haven't experienced it directly. It's a bit tastesless, being forced into something like that, but it's not as though it means anything.

Halloween in camp was not fun, but as I understand it that is a frightening holiday. Christmas is supposed to be peaceful.
