[The nights are getting longer... And does it look like the sun is a little dimmer? The shadows feel deeper, and at night it seems like the darkness in your closet could go on forever. But it should be okay if you stay in the light.

Still, there are whispers of something big coming...]

Better shape than you'll be in ... if you don't leave.

Have you spoken to the Professor? If she messed with your head, maybe he can reverse it.

No. Why would I talk to him?

Well, it seems to me that if some vampire used their psychic mojo to mess with your head that leaves you vulnerable to further attack, your only options to get it reversed would either be to seek out the girl who did it to you originally or speak to a powerful psychic and see what they might be able to do.

So unless you can think of another telepath in camp that you trust enough to let near your head, those seem like your only options. Besides doing nothing, I mean.

Or I can overcome it myself. I don't need anyone's help to overcome it.

I'm sorry, I know we're from different points in the timeline, but did you somehow have some latent telepathic abilities manifest which could help you ward off psychic attacks from vampires while I've been gone?

Doesn't matter. I'll find a way. I'm not letting anyone else in there.

Julian, you don't have to do this alone. I mean I can understand why you're suspicious, but one or both of those vampires might attack you again, or any number of the others in camp.

Trying to tackle it yourself might work, but you'd likely be leaving yourself vulnerable for a good length of time. Is that really something you want to risk?

I told you, I can handle it. Now that I know what it is, I know what to do.

And what exactly is that?

Kill them without attacking them.

Okay, first- no one stays dead here. I think doing that would just make them angrier, and they'd be more likely to attack you again and again. And they wouldn't be doing it with the intent to harm Julian, they would kill you. Is that really a competition you'd want to get into with a group of immortals who feed on people? Who can manage to die the most?

And secondly... Julian, you're not- you're not the type, okay.

I could be. I could be a lot of things.

You are a lot of things Julian, but this isn't one of them. You're not a killer. Despite what happened- which wasn't your fault- you aren't. You've never needed to kill someone to solve any problem, you always found a way around that. You've never wanted to kill anyone either. And I don't believe that's changed.

Not even a little.

I keep thinking about it.

I'd do it again if I had to.

No, I don't think you can ever really forget...

[ stops and stays quiet for a moment ]

Julian, you did it to save people. What happened, whatever else has been said or done, what you did- it was to save lives. Should it have happened? No. Could there have been another way to stop Omega Sentinel? I don't know. Should it have been up to you to be the one to stop her? No. It wasn't your fault Julian. You did what you had to in order to save lives.
