Months and months ago, my mom had told me and Kira that she wanted to buy us tickets to come visit her in Florida over spring break. We were both excited about the prospect, but also didn't really get our hopes up, because her buying the tickets was dependent on her getting a good tax refund in February. Not to mention, past experience has shown us ( Read more... )

Ahhh I'm so happy you're going on that trip. what a nice thing to look forward to in the shitstorm as of late.

I hope you have a wonderful time (I KNOW you will) and it rejuvenates your soul a bit. it's tough to be surrounded by negativity all the time...been there, done that.

It really is great to have something to look forward to.

Thank you! I'm sure it'll be awesome, and will help me recharge. You're definitely right; it sucks to be surrounded by negativity, though lately I'm feeling much closer to the light at the end of the tunnel.

Yay! I'm so excited for you! What part of Florida will you be going to? 'Cold' in Florida is wonderful for anyone who deals with actual freezing temps, heh. (Sorry, Florida, but 50s is not cold!)

I hope the next three weeks fly by for you. :D

Thanks! My mom lives close to Clearwater/Tampa, on the Gulf side. Haha, I know, my mom tells me about needing to get her sweaters out when it's like 65 degrees, and I just laugh. It's going to be beautiful. :D

Thanks, me too!

Eeee it'll be gorgeous! LOL. I know it's all relative, but 65 sounds downright delightful! :D

Woo to the freaggin' hoo!!! :-) That's awesome your mom was able to get you both your tickets! I really hope you get to do nothing but relax and bask in the warmth of the sun while you're down there, it's definitely more than well-deserved!

Living on your own is actually a heck of a lot of fun! I had the biggest blast here when I was doing the solo living thing. Heck, there's times when I miss it! Of course back then I had much more considerate neighbors so it was nice and quiet too! Hehe!

I know, I'm so psyched! It's even better because I totally did not think this was actually going to happen. And now it is, yay! :D

Well, good, I'm glad to hear that it can be a lot of fun, because I actually am really looking forward to it. Normally I HATE moving, but I'm kind of excited about this one! I can't wait till I can really start looking at places, haha. :) I definitely feel ready to rock the single life for awhile.

Yay! SO glad that you're going to be able to go to Florida! And yay, it's only 3 weeks from now! You definitely deserve the break. I left for Texas like 2 days after I told my ex I wanted a divorce and just being able to escape that environment was SUCH a relief.

Family Day? I swear Canada and the US usually have the same days off, but for completely different holidays. Though, I am still working today on Presidents' Day.

I never lived alone until after my divorce either. I went from dorm living in college to being married, with no transition in between. I enjoyed living on my own. The only time I really ever missed living with a guy was when I tried to open jars of spaghetti sauce. Hahaha.

It's hard not to look when you're excited about the prospect of moving. Are you planning to stay in the same area or are you thinking of moving to a different neighborhood? I'm not entirely sure how far away from work you currently are.
