Title: Rudimentary Behavioral Psychology

Spoilers: Assumes current knowledge, but I wrote this before I saw last night’s episode (3x13).
Ratings/warnings: PG-13, I think? I’m bad at ratings. There’s a teensy bit of swearing.

Joining the chorus to say you've nailed Britta here. Loved her, loved the story.

This was just awesome. I love Britta in fic! It's fun watching her discover their whatever-it-is thing going on, and the not-jealousy. I can absolutely see her reacting this way and wondering why Annie and not her, even though she has no interest in Jeff.

I've been wracking my brain to remember what prompt inspired this and I can't, for the life of me, think what it could be. Remind me please? It's driving me nuts.

Thank you! I also love Britta. I need to write more Britta.

And it was the "Jeff doesn't notice he's being hit on by a saleswoman" part that you prompted, weeks ago (March 11). You actually had Annie as being the one who is there when he's oblivious to it happening, but I adapted it to Britta. I often go back and re-read ficcy Friday prompts for inspiration.

Oh! Oh! Duh! I completely forgot about that prompt. Ugh. I Britta'd it.

Yeah, you're totally right. I think my shipper goggles blocked out all of that effort he put into Britta, lol. I'm glad you still think it works, though!

Thank you! I don't think Britta would be a very good spy. :P And I agree that ep was kinda sad... Britta's such a hypocrite, but I love her for it. At first she doesn't want to sleep with Jeff cause she thinks that's all he wants, but when he starts dating Slater, there's that tap-dancing ep where she sees them holding hands in the audience and is like "well, shit"... Then later in the season she DOES sleep with him, but when he tries to have that ~moment~ with her in Troy's dorm, she freaks out. Then she tells him she loves him (when she clearly doesn't), and then spends the majority of the next year as his fuck buddy. Geez, Britta, get your shit together! ;)

It never fails to amaze me how awesomely in character you write. I can properly picture all of this happening.

I love the story. A very believable approach. Of course Britta doesn't want Jeff, she doesn't even really want Jeff to want her or for Jeff to not want anyone else. That doesn't mean she wouldn't be a bit jealous. I think we have all experienced something like that. I sure as hell have.

I love the subtle difference between Britta dealing with Jeff not being *her* Jeff and not yet dealing with Jeff/Annie. Open-ended. And of course, we don't yet have Jeff/Annie. *sigh* so romantic!

Bonus! Your fic was really funny. I genuinely LOLd at this: She grabs Jeff’s arm. “Did you see that?” she whispers loudly. “Leashes, Jeff! They have them on LEASHES!”

Thank you!

*all the hugs*

Yay!!! I wasn't actually sure if this was what you wanted, but I thought I'd give it a go. So glad you liked it. Now I should also get back to writing my other fic... :P
