SWAT’s reconnaissance of the three warehouses proved that Charlie’s math was right yet again. The warehouse closest to the water and furthest from LA’s most populated area was abuzz with suspicious activity. Agent Warren was seen entering the third facility on his list. Upon her arrival, she immediately sought out a rather large man who SWAT recognized as one of the notorious ruffians for the local criminal underworld.
Another far more squirrelly man was working furiously at a bench in the corner with chemicals and glassware spread behind him. He jumped when she called his name and it seemed fairly obvious that the man was working on something that required less stress in tandem with steadier hands. Warren laughed at his reaction before yelling out orders and asking why his project wasn’t finished yet. She became infuriated when she heard the answer and started to storm off, but the large ruffian kept her from her path.
SWAT reported twenty other people working in and around the warehouse but in all that, no one could see Callie anywhere.
Colby’s stomach tightened for the tenth time in as many minutes as he heard SWAT repeat that there was no sign of Agent Walker anywhere inside the warehouse. He hoped that she was hidden…that she was being kept somewhere outside the warehouse - but he had to swallow hard at the possibility that her usefulness had runs its course and the criminals had taken her life.
He wouldn’t think of that now. They were about to take the warehouse and when they did, he would make them talk. He would find out where she was and he would take her home, just like he promised Gary…like he promised himself and if he couldn’t keep that promise, there would be hell to pay. [
