Haha! Shirts I can iron, they are easy (well easier), you unbutton them and then they only have one side, t-shirts and pants on the other hand... I iron one side, it looks lovely except I just ironed a whole bunch of new wrinkles on the other side which are exceptionally difficult to iron out again and hello, new wrinkles on previously lovely-looking side, vicious cycle...

I think 'hygiene' is over-rated ( ... )

Good answer! I'm really really glad you didn't take offence. :)

Of course these things are coming into my mind at the moment when my time and energy are being drained by a new job. Economising on both is definitely something I need to do! It's a bit overwhelming... especially when I find that the most important files of my predecessor (what's the word for one of those when she's not actually dead?) have most likely been completely deleted from the system and I will have to type all my funding applications and so on from scratch, not to mention working up my own fundraising contacts list...

Not "a bit overwhelming." "Bloody terrifying" would be more accurate.

why take offence? I know I'm dirty :)

why are all the files deleted??! That's awful! Making up funding applications from scratch is a horrifying prospect!

I'm sure the internet will have some you can plagiarise...

Good thoughts alwayskiwi February 22 2009, 08:32:41 UTC
The thoughts in here are interesting. I think, like you probably, that it takes common sense to look after the environment and hygiene as well. Back in the days when most of the things spoken of by the environment people were facts of life because they did not have our resources, then disease was rife. Diptheria, thyphoid, and all the other nasties were brought about by not being able to use the same things we take forgranted today.
Oh and by the way

Happy Birthday for tomorrow
