Quilting

Today I stayed away from The Tudors (wise move, I think) and instead got caught up on my quilting. It was a cozy, happy way to spend a morning.

David and I have been doing a block-of-the-month club through an adorable shop on Main Street (www.patches3.com). We've never quilted before, but we thought--why not? How hard can it be to make one block a ( Read more... )

That is SO fabulous! It's on my life list of things to do to participate in a quilting circle some year. My grandmother had a friendship quilt, where everyone in her church had done a block, then they would get together for a day and by the end of the day, they would have a finished quilt-- many hands makes the work light.

What a lovely life you lead in so many ways-- just really lovely that the two of you are doing it together.

Love those marbled fabrics. The patterns remind me of mosaic church floors in Europe.

Those are beautiful! Yeah, I need to take this up again. I also need to learn to knit.

We didn't go to WWM because of weather concerns...sounds like we'd have spent tomorrow driving through snow pretty much continuously, which sounded much less than fun to either of us.

I love your color choices. With the marbling you are going to have an amazing quilt. I have wanted to do a block of the month for ages... Maybe it's not to late to start one for Jan :-)
