I did really luck out. Fingers crossed I don't bankrupt us. [ Chuckles as if this is not a genuine concern. ]

That's what accountants are for. I'd hope they'd say something about it before you get in too deep.

Yeah, probably. We have the best accountants around. Personality-wise. They're not always all that efficient. But who am I to judge?

Not sure. How high did the promotion go?

I'm the regional manager.

Right... [ Clears throat. ] Well. I'm still getting used to the whole 'boss' arrangement. And that's way beyond the kinds of decisions I'm comfortable making.

You're still new to it, right? Figure you'll grow into the role.

I was kind of hoping it'd come naturally. Business aptitude is one part learned behavior, one part luck, and one part instinct. I definitely don't have luck or instinct so if that first one could just overcompensate well enough for three I'd be all set.

Well, you've seen it done long enough, right? Might be able to pick up from your old bosses and make tweaks as necessary.
