a tall girl with dark skin, a conspicuous glow, and a familiar haircut is on the other side, a handful of oddly faint threads in one hand, connecting to the edge of the portal, and the other holding her communicator. she looks up and smiles before crossing over to feferi's side ]

Well, I tend to think the skulking is a little overrated, actually, despite how romanticized it is in literature.

[feferi looks pretty different as well; her horns and fins are gone, and her skin is darker, but it's still recognizably her.]

Wow, Kanaya! Is that you? You look great! [she stands up from where she is sitting and moves to sweep kanaya into a hug]

Oh! [ the hug was a little quicker than she expects, and she ends up losing the threads in her one hand, closing the portal behind her. but nonetheless, she smiles fondly and gladly reciprocates the embrace, only glowing a little bit brighter than she was before ]

I'm very pleased to see you as well, Feferi, we could certainly do with the infectious cheer at the moment.

To answer your questions, we have been rendered so for the most part, though there have been a few exceptions, namely Nepeta and Tavros, [ as well as gamzee and sometimes eridan now, but the less said about them, the better ] and more still where our less human aspect have sustained themselves despite the change, like Terezi's horns and eyes, or my luminescence. Though I can revert to my natural form under...certain circumstances.

I'd like to think that my ability to manipulate the threads of space are simply a late manifestation of my particular domain, but it's more likely due to Lachesis' machinations, as so many things tend to be here.
