I can imagine Marvel!Jake finding out that some of his officers are skrulls and being struck by a cosmic sense of de ja vu.

Marvel!Marco would have to be son of the Skrull Queen, when she came down earlier to check the planet out... And then Marvel!Tobias would have to be related to Kree somehow, possibly in the same sort of position as Teddy.
Marvel!Rachel would have to be a mutant of some sort. Cassie, idk, Cassie was always my least favorite.

Fraction brain-deletion canon: y/n?
*desperately hopes it's 'n' so she can read*

I'm not even sure where Fraction is trying to go with that business, I totally ignored it

I think one of my favorite parts of this whole thing is the SHIELD/law enforcement/military aspect, with Steve working with Reyes -- you don't often get to see Steve as a field commander/soldier outside of his superhero/Avengers duties in fic.
Oh God, and the Asgardians! (whereupon I had to stop reading to flail again) And the giant Avenger-team clusterfuck at the end, and Steve not being sure what to call Hank because he's had so many names, and the evil crazy alternate Tony in the Helicarrier's cells, and Jack's rebuilding job, and the Hulks fighting the armors (which would make a glorious splash page -- I could see it in my head so vividly) and why isn't this fic canon? Why?
I may have an actual coherent review later, but right now all I have is the need to babble in incoherent glee and flail my arms around.

I can't really, like. Mention anything specific here, but I love the way you write Steve and Tony together, the awkwardness and the underlying guilt and all their uncomfortable repressed love. <3

So, brass tacks, I really liked this story. You have nice lines, and it takes skill and effort to work with the canon post civil war and making the world into something organic and real. Like Steve working with SHIELD, and his running into Castle. I also liked the fact that Steve comes back to find the dynamic of the avengers changed, and he doesn't slot in. Doesn't try to take sides or get people to sing kumbaya.
There are some lovely lines "This isn't small. I can't do this if it's small," *wibbles* and
Tony often tries to bring down entire mountains with nothing more than his stare; the amazing thing being that most of the time, it works.
Really good lines.
