I take it back.

The secret to a cynic, you see, is that, at heart, he's an idealist. At least, that's how I see it. You can't be cynical without inherently believing there must be some better option that people could aspire to but choose not to for whatever reason. Still, the primary current in cynicism is expecting fully that people will fail to make intelligent choices, which is why, for the first time, I found myself voting for a non-Republican president. My party has lost its identity and direction, and until they find it, they've largely lost my support.
