Because I'm chatty...

...but have no idea what to talk about, so once again, I open myself up to questions and/or comments from the peanut gallery.
Feel free, ask away ;)

Here's something to give you lots to talk about: What can I do to bring my fencing to the next level?

study? :D
Seriously, first off, enjoy just getting back into the 'swing' of things. Half of fencing, especially the enjoyable half, is attitude. Find a good one and run with it.
Secondly, Read, study, and analyze. Find a good book on the subject you trust, anything from Aldo Nadi's "On Fencing", or William Wilson's "Arte of Defence" or the new "Duelist's Companion" by Guy Windsor, and learn how others break down the fencing 'game', then start doing the same to your own systematics.
How's that?

That works. What I'd really like to do is also learn more historical styles. Eogan and Alexander are great teachers but at practice, unless they've changed most of what is taught is SCA fencing.

I enjoy killing, and sometimes even more so being killed by my friends. Three out of my four favorite fights so far are ones I lost.

Then I highly recommend William's book and Guy's book, and also Tommasso Leoni's translation of Fabris.

All of my favorite fights (barring 2) are one's I've lost :D

Has anything come of our previous e-mail/discussion/questions asked?

yes, good things are a foot. They will take a little while, but I believe we are on the cusp of a Cultural Shift. Work is being done, look for the little good things and build upon them :D

One might, though, that is apparently an Austrailian reference

I'm not sure how many people outside of one specific source might get that :)

Tell me what you really think of Vikings :)

[Looking forward to Estrella, but I think the only day I can fight rapier is Friday, which means I won't get to poke at you. I'll just beat up Marcos!]

They are MANLY!! MANLY I SAY!! And no amount of posing and posturing by sharp, sword whalopping WOMAN will convince me otherwise!!! :D

I'm sure Marcos will give you a run for your money, though I will regret missing the opportunity.....in a Viking kind of way, of course ;)

How do you like your fencing shirts? I only ask because Diego hasn't followed through on measurements or such.

For a more thought-worthy thought, what is one thing would you like to see happen at Estrella?

"How do you like your fencing shirts?" Clean, though that's a rareity ;)
Um, I'm not sure I follow the question, Cat makes me nice shirts from the nice pattern, I wear said nice shirts...you may rather want to contact my keeper (Aka my wife), though I think I have shirts for Estrella...
