I have not listened to your Beauty & the Beast episode yet, but I HOPE it is not all about Stockholm Syndrome because, really, I think Beast deserves credit for--well, maybe not CREDIT for, but it's a NICE THING that his bratty, selfish heart was softened by his prisoner, plus he's one of the only princes who actually does get to know the princess before falling in love with her, UNLIKE those in Cinderella, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, and to an extent Little Mermaid. However, there is an essay floating around out there about how Gaston actually would have been better for Belle and how in the French Revolution, Beast and Belle would have had their heads chopped off ( ... )

Yeah we tried to stay away from the Stockholm Syndrome take 'cause it's pretty basic but we were thinking of them within the context of a modern relationship so it still didn't look so great lololol BUT that's a really interesting point about how he did soften towards her! You're right, all the other Disney princes just see a girl and go GOOGLY-EYED. I'll add that to the notes for when we revisit them! I gotta find that essay, I can't even imagine how it's possible that Gaston was a better fit for her BUT I'M OPEN TO HEARING IT.

Oh boy yeah, in Gilmore Girls I'm on the college boyfriend Logan, BLECH. They also do this thing where EVERY transition scene has a song that goes "la la la la laaaaa ba baba baaaa" and it's absolutely mind numbing.
