ok - reading this I have one thing to say - what the fuck was wrong with the neighbor who helped you?? At the very least they should have offered you shelter - and/or called 911 since the dog was obviously running loose and being agressive.

We have a very agressive german shepherd next door - it's cornered Dwight and me in the garage before and it's broken out of the yard - next time I am calling to have it taken away, whether it belongs to someone or not.

I know... I was thinking the exact same thing. But, alas, whatchyagonnado, eh? I was just happy there was ANYone around to help in ANY way.

I'm tellin' ya... th' idea of carryin' pepperspray around doesn't sound like such a silly idea anymore. Getting a gun permit takes too long.

i was totally gonna suggest pepper spray. guns are too skeery and they kill stuff. :(

Thanks! I agree on the dominance thing. Either way, I'm glad it was doing it in a non-angry/biting way. It could've been SOOOO much worse. As I said in another reply, I'm thinkin' I'm gonna go get some pepperspray to carry around when I walk 'em.

Oh yeah.. healing up nicely. The bruise around it looks worse than the actual bite by far ;-)
